The current year’s Amarnath Yatra has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), the decision making body regarding the pilgrimage, was scheduled to hold a gathering on Tuesday and take an official decision on the equivalent.
Earlier, the authorities had said that the yatra would start July 21 onward and go on till August 3. Be that as it may, the decsion is now being moved back.
The decision has at last stopped the speculation encompassing the yearly pilgrimage. Days back, the Supreme Court had suppressed a supplication looking for heading to the Center, Jammu and Kashmir organization and SASB to suspend the current year’s Amarnath Yatra considering COVID-19.
As per the old plan, it was concluded that the yatra would occur from one route in particular and all the pilgrims will have to go through a COVID-19 test. It was said that the temple authorities would broadcast puja on television for devotees across the nation.
The Amarnath cave is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism and hundreds of thousands of devotees make an annual pilgrimage to it across challenging mountainous terrain.
