India has recorded the highest number of recoveries from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the world and has overtaken the US, which is the country with the highest number of cases.
India currently accounts for 18.83% of the total global recoveries as compared to 18.77% recoveries from the US, according to the data provided by the union health ministry on Saturday.
The country accounts for 17.2% of the total cases that have been reported worldwide and increasing, with over 90,000 cases being recorded from India daily.
Globally, India is the second worst-hit country by the pandemic and accounts for almost 17 per cent of all cases in the world.

Globally, more than 3.06 crore people have contracted the coronavirus since its outbreak in China’s Wuhan last year, according to news agency AFP.
