Karnataka Health Minister B. Sriramulu tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday. The minister took to Twitter to announce the same. He went on to elaborate that he got tested and hospitalised after showing symptoms of flu.
He also requested all those who had come into contact with him recently to take precautionary measures and to get tested if they develop symptoms.
“From the time of Corona’s appearance, I have had the opportunity to visit the 30 districts and work in harmony with the government’s desire to treat people well. It is in this backdrop that I am going to be hospitalised and treated,” he said in Kannada in a series of tweets.
The Minister said he is praying to God to heal him soon so that he can get back to public work at the earliest. Sriramulu is the fifth minister in Karnataka to have tested positive for coronavirus.
Chief minister B S Yediyurappa and leader of the opposition Sidaramaiah are also in quarantine due to coronavirus infection.
