Mobile phones of actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh are among those seized by the Narcotics Control Bureau in its probe into allegations of drug abuse in Bollywood triggered by the death of movie star Sushant Singh Rajput.
An NCB source said: “The phones of Deepika, Karishma, Rakul and Khambatta have been seized by the NCB under the Indian Evidence Act.”
The development came after the questioning of Deepika and Karishma on Saturday, and Rakul and Khambatta on Friday for several hours.
Besides Deepika, Rakul, Khambatta and Karishma, the NCB also questioned Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan on Saturday for several hours.
Deepika Padukone was questioned for six hours at the Evelyn Guest House in Mumbai’s Colaba. Shraddha Kapoor and Sara were also questioned separately at the NCB’s Ballard Estate office.
Earlier, there were reports that Padukone’s husband and actor Ranveer Singh had asked the NCB if he could also remain present during her questioning. However, the NCB had on Friday clarified that it did not receive any such request.
