Under this initiative, artisans are set to receive a substantial financial boost, with the government providing loans of up to Rs 3 lakhs without the need for any bank guarantees. 

Moreover, the scheme promises an enticing proposition by ensuring remarkably low-interest rates. 

Initially, artisans can access a Rs 1 lakh loan, with the added promise that upon repayment, the government will extend an additional Rs 2 lakh loan to these skilled Vishwakarma partners. 

This progressive scheme marks a significant step towards nurturing the talents and aspirations of our country’s artisans, ensuring they thrive and contribute to the nation’s growth.

Highlights of PM Vishwakarma Scheme

👉 Prospective beneficiaries would be enrolled for free through common service centers using the biometric-based PM Vishwakarma portal under the scheme.

👉 The plan will help artisans and crafters in India’s rural and urban communities.

👉 In the beginning, 18 typical trades will be covered.

👉 Five lakh families will be covered in the first year, with a total of 30 lakh families covered during a five-year period beginning in FY24 and ending in FY28.

👉 The scheme’s primary goal is to improve the quality and reach of artisans’ and craftspeople’s products and services, as well as to ensure their integration into local and worldwide value chains.

👉 Beneficiaries will be recognized with a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, as well as skill upgrading through basic and advanced training.

👉 Beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme will receive a 15,000 toolkit reward, collateral-free credit support up to 1 lakh (first tranche) and 2 lakh (second tranche) at a 5% concessional interest rate, an incentive for digital transactions, and marketing assistance.

Eligibility & Trades eligible for the Vishwakarma Scheme

Any 18-year-old or older artisan or craftsman working with hands and tools in a family-based traditional trade in an unorganized sector on a self-employment basis is eligible for Vishwakarma Scheme assistance.
